The Al-Rasheed Hotel in Baghdad has for decades been held up as a symbol of stability and international excellence in a city with a troubled history.

A popular choice with visiting journalist, executives and diplomats, the Al-Rasheed is the only hotel to offer 5-star standard, and its re-opening represents an important milestone in the creation of a new, modern Iraq
Radford Chancellor Ltd was engaged by our client Ali Contract to visit the site, deliver a full food hygiene training programme and ensure that the new brigade of catering staff were full conversant with the new equipment and technology which had been installed in the various kitchens of the Al-Rasheed.
A team of 24 chefs and 14 kitchen assistants and porters received full practical one week training program on the Ambach cooking system, Lainox combi-ovens, Comenda dishwashers, Bongard bakery systems and Aurea food processing equipment.
The re-launch of the hotel was marked by a VIP conference of international diplomats and Iraqi government officials. Radford Chancellor Ltd undertook to manage the catering operation for this event, providing an on-site consultant Head Chef to ensure the smooth running of the kitchen for the first two weeks, and the subsequent handover to the resident team. Radford Chancellor Ltd created menus, ordering systems and supplier relationships to ensure a successful project legacy.
